The Root combines bindweed and cabuya fibres in a hand-worked basket that celebrates the character of its natural materials. Its woven construction gives the piece an organic quality, with subtle irregularities in the fibres and their arrangement ensuring that the hand of the maker remains present.

The process is not hidden behind a perfectly uniform surface. Instead, construction, texture and material variation become part of the finished expression. The result is an object in which the act of weaving can be read through the form itself, connecting the finished piece directly to the materials and processes from which it emerged.
