Origins Designs on the work

This dining chair captures what we believe good furniture for real life should do: look considered, feel genuinely comfortable and stand up to how people actually live.

Built on a solid beech frame, it is upholstered in George & Minnie by GP & J Baker, bringing softness, pattern and character to a piece designed for everyday use.

The inspiration was simple: a dining chair should invite people to stay at the table longer, not just sit at it. Every proportion, from the seat depth and back rake to the height, has been refined through client feedback on real chairs in real homes.

That is the heart of Origins Design, a trade workshop built on custom upholstery and joinery, designing for daily life as much as aesthetics.

In a room built around one long communal table and many different voices, we wanted our seat to be the one people do not want to get up from.
