The original inspiration came from a Picasso drawing of a female sat in a chair with a drink and an apple. The construction and joinery were inspired by the way in which log cabins are built with overlapping joints; however, without any carvings, this felt too heavy.

The carvings began with the apple; however, I like the tactile human touch and so wanted to add a half-eaten apple, which led me to think about what else could eat an apple. It’s not serious; it's playful.
