Jarrad Belton on the work

This chair was made as a prototype. After completing a bespoke and truly unique dining table, I needed to create 6 chairs to marry to this piece. I wanted a chair that allowed the dining table to take centre stage but also stand independently as its own statement piece.

A relatively honest form with a laminated curved backrest, cut from many thin layers of Ash. The solid seat is made from two bookmatched components to create a pleasing pattern.

The footprint of this piece is quite small, allowing it be tucked away nicely around my table and allowing interactions to be less obstructive.
