Will James on the work

The MASON and STANTON seating represent James' desire to craft simple, beautiful and functional furniture from native British timbers. Both feature Danish cord seats hand-woven by James, without a single nail or metal support – all held together by friction alone. James has always had an affinity with mid-century furniture, and these pieces lean on that, with a modern twist. The backrest of the Stanton chairs is hand-carved from a single piece of oak and both curves and tapers to give optimal back support.
