Tamasine Osher on the work

The Purton Chair features a sculptural square section frame with angular yet elegant lines and forms which are juxtaposed against the supple organic Pinatex upholstery. The piece is an exploration into the interaction between hard industrial architectural buildings and soft and yielding landscapes in nature. The interest lies in how these contrasting elements join and repel each other.

The chair is hand-crafted in Kent, and each piece is made to order. It has a moving, pivoting backrest for maximum adaptability, making it comfortable for all shapes and sizes.
