Sean Evelegh on the work

This two-seater bench is made from English oak topped with an upholstered savanna brown leather seat. Two curved wooden rails connect the legs across its base. The inspiration for this piece came from Hans J. Wegner, as we wanted to create a minimalist, Scandinavian piece. While minimalist, we wanted to showcase high-skill joinery by seamlessly connecting the curved rail into the hand-turned leg. Furthermore, the legs decoratively nestle into the corners of the cushion creating a floating appearance, with no visible joint connecting the leg to the cushion.
